The Challenge: Left Hand Brewing built a strong reputation over 30 years, especially around its Nitro Milk Stout. (If you haven’t tried it, you really should.) But their growth in volume needed an updated brand to match.
The Idea: The company was started by two home brewers, and as big as they’ve gotten, they’ve always maintained a small brewery attitude. My partner Dave Steinke gave them a more modern look while maintaining a simple, no-nonsense sensibility. After interviewing key people in the organization, I codified the spirit of Left Hand in a manifesto and a new tagline, “From our hand to yours,” that will keep the spirit alive.
